My avatar is Usir (Osiris). The Lord of Silence. Knowing when to draw inference, and when to remain silent (epoché) - is the key to fortress wisdom. Hence the tag line of ethical skepticism: 𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙘𝙝𝙚́ 𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙨

This statement alone would disqualify a person in my organization from ever holding more than an mid-level position (or maybe even a job)... A false equivalence, as one is a chosen-promoted culture with stated hate-goals - the other is something which a person does not choose.
"If they are not gonna make a distinction between muslims and extremists, then why should I distinguish between white people and racists."

One that Amazon got, that Barnes & Noble did not: Amazon realized that they were not a 'book seller'. Barnes & Noble did not. Amazon was selling hyper-service - and Barnes & Noble was simply the first canary in that cage of misperception.

The purpose of a CEO is not to address the question of how something is done, but rather why something is done. If you place a How-person in charge as CEO, there is always a hidden Why-person in the background. That influence hides for a reason.

A tech company may choose a CTO to step up and lead, unless it's not really a 'technology company', but rather a company which vends human rights at their fronteir - but just happens to use technology to do so. Many orgs serve through technology - that does not make them 'tech'.

One office products company I advised - failed to understand that they were a service organization first, who just happened to sell desks and pencils. They pawned service off to a third party and failed as a result.

An organization which is not actually aware of what it is marketing and delivering - will fail, unless it is a sure thing (Starbucks, Amazon, Facebook, etc.) And a 'sure thing', owes favors to those who made the sure thing happen.

Finally, a How-person will often not have tested their will in the face of being pressured by Why-influences to do something unethical. They reply 'how high' when asked to conduct miracle jumps. After all, that shtick is how they succeeded in the first place.

The constituents of a CEO are not simply the corporation's employees and working technology - but rather its customers, their families, their governmental charter, their well-being, and right to thrive. You do not learn these things in 11 years of IT work.

No ten shilling bell rings so true as that one which is targeted for silencing.

@DCarr75 @dcarr8 @LVGully Updated article with 2009-2021 ranking. Penalty per play against-to-for differential. Raiders rank 51% higher than the #3 ranked team, and triple NFL avg. Equates to 2 - 3 losses per season by penalty. Take note of perennial favorite on bottom left.

The thief does not steal because of need, but rather because their sponsors have instructed them that their fellow citizens are less than human.

A variant which is somewhat like an original variant from the very start, but contains a deletion...(the rarest of the types of mutations other than, n/a frameshift) In high school this argument is known as the "It's not you, it's me... (it's you...)" argument.

It does not require that one be an expert in polishing, in order to spot when someone is polishing a turd.
