Happens to the best of us, Ethereum development is a ruthless minefield. The issue has been sitting there unnoticed for almost a year. The community should do a better job scrutinizing the code instead of scrutinizing the overstressed devs. There is never enough eyes.

Agreed, we need way more code readers. Wish it was easier to learn to read production code. I've done online courses and can do basic solidity, but even after months I have virtually 0 chance of understanding a production contract with multiple imports.

Programming in general is like this, something seems perfect and looks like it will work seamlessly but it's easy to miss something small, some edge case not seen, more eyes looking is the only real solution with multiple audits on the code performed by a third party.
