Why should the average person care about how long a stock trade takes to settle? It’s not like you’re waiting two days to get a specific price exposure
Fintech is a colossal disappointment. While tech has transformed almost every industry, finance has been left largely untouched. Sure, we have ATMs and credit cards, but stocks still settle in two days, bill pay takes five days, and mortgages nearly two months. – @Matt_Hougan

Cause the cash is locked, I can’t sell the stock withdraw it to my bank and spend it. In crypto I can sell take a loan do another swap pay off mortgage create an ico have a whole year of tradfi price action in a single block if you want. It’s better I can’t go back

It’s ridiculous this shit doesn’t happen in real time it takes actual days to do stuff in tradfi when there’s no reason for it anymore and don’t even get me started on wires vs stables
