Just made my first #Ethereum NFT: "I'm The Chad"! It's a globally singleton NFT that can be taken away by anyone when the basefee is higher than during the previous reown. Let's see who's the biggest Chad out there! opensea.io/assets/0x621a6d60…

The NFT's image contains the current basefee that needs to be outbid, and the description (beside a summary of the rules) contains a hall of fame of all Chads who took ownership away from someone else. All generated on-chain! No URLs, no IPFS. This thing remains indefinite! 🤯

To take ownership away, a royalty of 1 ETH is currently required. This is to recoup costs + not be frustrated if a secondary sale is made on an NFT market. There's no fancy website yet, but you can do it via etherscan at etherscan.io/address/0x621a6…. Source code of course available!

Many thanks to @solidity_lang, @protolambda and @tayvano_ for the idea and the crazy lolz that pushed me to actually implement it. 😅😇🥰

If I understand correctly, the new owner doesn't have to pay the previous owner, only the royalty fee?

Yup. You can of course buy it from them on any market if they are willing to sell it (then no royalty is involved). If you "take it" from them (and thus increase it's rarity (since it needs a higher basefee)), then the royalty comes into the picture.

If only it minted an "I Was Once the Chad" NFT each time it was taken away

I prefer, "You've been Chadded". To each their own...
