Solana has been offline for 7 hours. For a “crypto” network, the ability to run a node yourself is absolutely critical.
1/ Solana Mainnet Beta encountered a large increase in transaction load which peaked at 400,000 TPS. These transactions flooded the transaction processing queue, and lack of prioritization of network-critical messaging caused the network to start forking.

Check out the hardware requirements: 128GB RAM, 12core/24thread, high storage and TBW SSDs, great internet. Costs about $8k usd to run a node with top 0.01% PCs and still runs out of RAM space. Hardware refreshes incoming every year too.

And this isn't even RPC node, which requires 256GB RAM.
